MEET DR. NICHOLE CRISS

Dr. Nichole Criss is an award-winning piano instructor and collaborative pianist. She holds a Doctorate of Worship Studies (The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies, 2022), a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (Hope International University, 2013), and a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Kent State University, 2010). She was the recipient of the 2017 Steinway & Sons Top Teacher Award and the 2019 Church Mutual Religious Scholars Award.

Nichole has taught private piano lessons since 2006 and has accompanied for public school choir programs since 2013. In addition to her weekly private lessons through The Piano Studio, she is currently the staff accompanist for the choral department of Green Local Schools (Uniontown, Ohio) and Northwest Middle School Choirs (Canal Fulton, Ohio). In addition, she is part of the worship leadership team and is the Band Director at New Life Tabernacle in Massillon, Ohio.

Nichole is a Steinway Teacher Educational Partner, and is a well-respected private piano instructor in Northeast Ohio. She has developed a renowned reputation as an exceptional music educator, and her students exhibit proficiency in musicality, technique, and music theory in recitals, competitions, and exams.

She has been an adjudicator for solo piano events hosted by the National Federation of Music Clubs for eight seasons and was a member of the Blossom Festival Chorus with The Cleveland Orchestra from 2013-2017.

As a highly sought-after piano instructor and collaborative pianist in Northeast Ohio, Nichole was described by Dr. Sebastian Birch, Associate Professor of Music at Kent State University Stark, as “a sensitive and technically accomplished pianist.”
